WOGI is a next-generation sustainable gastronomy ecosystem that connects food, mobility, culture, and technology into one integrated European platform. At its core, the WOGI app brings together local producers, conscious consumers, tourism actors, and cities through recipe sharing, farm-to-table discovery, events, challenges, and reward-based engagement for sustainable behavior. Built through a web-based validation phase and evolving into a full cross-platform mobile and web solution, WOGI integrates AI-driven personalization, sustainability scoring, innovative GPS-based food and cycling routes, blockchain-powered loyalty tokens, and NFTs, while laying the foundation for immersive AR/VR and metaverse experiences that preserve and showcase Europe’s culinary heritage.

This ecosystem is realized through a portfolio of interconnected innovation projects. CYCLEFOOD NEXUS, developed under Horizon Europe, advances sustainable urban–rural food systems and low-impact tourism by combining gastronomy, cycling tourism, AI, blockchain, and data-driven circular models, aiming for measurable emission reduction and large-scale producer support across European cities. BICO- Bike Integrated Community expands this vision into everyday urban mobility and wellbeing, delivering a city-integrated digital platform and Living Mobility Labs, activated through the WOGI EuroTaste Ride - an 18,000 km pan-European cycling expedition generating real-world behavioral, mobility, and economic impact data for cities.

Trust and transparency are reinforced through TRUSTCHAIN, which integrates blockchain-based food traceability with AI-powered personalized guidance to enable confident, sustainable food choices and strengthen short food supply chains. Looking beyond the physical world, Sustainable Flavors Virtual Heritage extends the WOGI ecosystem into immersive metaverse environments, transforming recipes, producer stories, and regional food cultures into virtual experiences and digital heritage assets that promote sustainability, education, and cultural preservation at scale.
